Join us for the 2007 Public Issues Leadership Development Conference
April 23 - 25, 2007 Alexandria, Virginia
Registration is now available online at www.jcep.org
Early bird deadline is March 1, 2007
The 2007 PILD Conference Planning Committee is excited to bring you "Connectivity: Community to the Capitol." JCEP sponsors this annual conference to keep Extension professionals abreast of changing public issues that impact our communities and affect Extension programming. The next year will undoubtedly bring major changes to Cooperative Extension across the country and this conference will offer a variety of speakers to help identify emerging issues and assist you in addressing these issues in your community.
In response to evaluations from 2006 the planning committee has made some changes in the schedule. The conference will start Monday morning with a general session. Then Extension Professional Associations and sessions for Extension leadership and volunteers will be held. All sessions will be on site this year. There will be a poster session which gives participants a chance to share what they have done in the public issues/public policy area. Wednesday will be your opportunity to visit with your Congressional delegates. The conference will conclude Wednesday night with a reception and a chance to hear and interact with Dr. Gale Buchanan, Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics, USDA and Colien Hefferan, Administrator, USDA, CSREES.
Most important, you'll have the opportunity to network with other Extension professionals to broaden your understanding of public policy issues and gain new ideas for what may work in your community or state.
Frankly, we think that PILD is a great tool for providing professional development opportunities to help Cooperative Extension Agents/Educators improve and better their standing in the community. Please join us in Washington on April 23-25, 2007 for PILD.
Please contact the JCEP registration office with any questions at 704-333-8445 or staff@themanagementoffice.com

Interested in receiving a little help with expenses at the AM/PIC? It's really quite easy to obtain a sizeable incentive to defray some of those costs associated with travel/lodging. Help NACAA and NACAA will help you! For the past several years - NACAA has offered an incentive plan to members who bring in new sponsors. The program is as follows:
| Sponsor Level | Incentive |
|---|---|
| $2,000 - $4,999 | AM/PIC registration fee reimbursed |
| $5,000 - $9,999 | AM/PIC registration fee reimbursed and $500 travel voucher to attend the AM/PIC |
| $10,000 - up | AM/PIC registration fee reimbursed and $1,000 travel voucher to attend the AM/PIC |
If you have a local/regional/national sponsor that you think would be a good fit for NACAA - contact Fred Miller at Fred_Miller@ncsu.edu or Scott Hawbaker - nacaaemail@aol.com and we'll be glad to assist you in preparing a donor/sponsor proposal that can be presented.
Annually, NACAA counts on close to $100,000 in donor/sponsor support to help defray the costs associated with the Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference. This support helps NACAA keep registration fees lower than most other conferences and allows NACAA to continue to offer a wide variety of Award Programs.
