Fundraising for 4H Camp in Partnership with the Tractor Supply Clover Campaign

Abstract
Union County is a rural, poverty stricken county with limited opportunities for fundraising. Twenty two percent of youth live below the poverty line. Removing financial barriers to attend 4-H camp is a challenge for 4-H Extension Agents. The Tractor Supply 4-H Paper Clover Campaign has made a significant impact in the Union County 4-H Camping Program. This poster will highlight the methods UT Extension Union County has used in fundraising to increase 4-H Camp participation. Marketing, communication methods, guidelines, and recordkeeping will be discussed. Communication is the key to success with organizing parents and students to attend their shifts. Partnerships with the Tractor Supply employees were built over years have increased employee participation in the Clover Campaign. To date, this fundraiser has contributed to over $50,000 in 4-H Camp Scholarships. Over 65% of Union County’s campers earned a portion or all of the camp fees by participating the Clover Campaign. Union County Camp participation has steadily increased due to the partnership with Tractor Supply.
