Abstract

Breaking the Burnout Cycle is a presentation and resource handout created during the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Leadership Academy 2024-2025 Cohort. Extension professionals are prone to burnout due to the service nature of our careers and the need to wear many hats. The farmers we serve also battle with high stress and burnout. This 30-minute presentation is adaptable for Extension and agriculture audiences and has been given at these events across the country: NACAA AM/PIC 2025, SC Agritourism Association, Savannah Valley County Coordinators Meeting, Pee Dee District Meeting, ISU Extension County Director Day, and the Extension Leadership Conference. What began as a one-time presentation collaboration has expanded into a tool with multiple uses and reach outlets. So far, we have created a handout on stress management, a digital resource folder with >80 clicks, and an adaptable PPT for your audience, and given 6 presentations and counting. Breaking the Burnout Cycle has opened doors to discussions on Extension staff burnout and workplace culture issues that are also prevelant in the audiences we serve.

Poster has NOT been presented at any previous NACAA AM/PIC

This poster is being submitted for judging. It will be displayed at the AM/PIC if not selected as a State winner. The abstract will be published in the proceedings.
