Impacts of the Connecticut Native Plant Availability List – An Extension Resource in Action

Abstract
The Connecticut Native Plant Availability List is an extension publication designed to connect consumers with local nurseries and educational resources to broaden the use of native species in Connecticut landscapes. Survey research was conducted to evaluate the impacts of the Connecticut Native Plant Availability List on participating nurseries and end-users. Users indicated an awareness of new native plant species, increased the number of native plants purchased for personal or professional work, and saved time locating native plants. Evaluating the impacts of an on-demand extension publication has value for partners, target audiences, and program leaders alike.
